Moscowitz & Moscowitz, P.A.
Norman A. Moscowitz and Jane W. Moscowitz share more than their dedication to quality representation and integrity. Married for more than 40 years, they work together as a team, evaluate the most appropriate legal options for each client and, together with their clients, plan and implement innovative, successful strategies. In some cases they work jointly on a case. In others, one of them will have primary responsibility for the representation. In every case, however, each partner provides advice, back-up and support for the other.
After college, they each pursued graduate degrees and then attended Harvard Law School together, graduating and beginning law practice in 1977 with different agencies of the U.S. Government. They moved to Miami in 1982, to work as Assistant U.S. Attorneys in the Southern District of Florida, and were each, during their tenure as prosecutors, appointed by the Attorney General as Senior Litigation Counsel. While gaining experience in all areas of federal criminal prosecution, they specialized in white collar crimes. They each tried dozens of cases as Assistant United States Attorneys, including complex multi-defendant trials lasting many months.
Following their government experience, each became partners at well regarded local law firms. Jane was a partner at Steel Hector and Davis from 1988 until 1992. Norman was a partner at what is now Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod, from 1993 until 1999. In 2000, they decided they could best provide high quality representation to their clients in their own firm. They combined their skills and knowledge to open Moscowitz & Moscowitz, P.A., widely respected as one of the preeminent criminal defense and civil litigation firms in South Florida. The firm has successfully handled complex private civil litigation and civil SEC regulatory proceedings for national and international corporate clients and individuals, and has successfully represented business people, lawyers, accountants, doctors, financial professionals and private investors charged with fraud and other white collar offenses in Federal and Florida courts.
The firm has the capacity to handle the most complex criminal defense and business litigation cases, whether on behalf of a public corporation, its board members or executives, private businesses and their owners, professionals or individuals. Its partners appreciate the toll which investigations, lawsuits and trials take on their clients, whether they are businesses, or individuals and their families, and in every case work to help them find ways to cope with these stresses. The partners never delegate primary responsibility for representing a client to others. Their approach is "hands on;" to provide the most effective representation they believe that they must know and master every fact and legal aspect of the case. When necessary, the firm works with leading professional specialists in financial investigation, accounting, and computer forensics. When they determine that additional legal resources are required, they engage other highly-qualified lawyers with whom they have longstanding relationships to assist them.
Professional Staff Makes an Important Difference
The most successful law firms can only provide high-quality representation with the full support of their professional staff. Moscowitz & Moscowitz, P.A. has earned its reputation for excellence and attention to the needs of its clients with the assistance and professional work efforts of its talented and dedicated paralegal Jacqueline Paya.
